St Chad’s is a red brick church that opened in 1886.

It was originally a Chapel-of ease to the Dagenham parish church until such time as Chadwell Heath became a separate parish in 1895.

  1. The famous D’Oyly Carte contralto Bertha May Lewis married here in August1910. She was my 1st cousin twice removed.
