Chadwell Heath Cemetery, Whalebone Lane North was opened in 1907, the first burial was on 1st Jun 1934.

On the far right of the cemetery is the War Memorial “In memory of civilians who lost their lives by enemy action in the Borough of Dagenham during the Second World War 1939 – 1945.”

War Memorial
The inscription reads: “This memorial is erected over the grave of the following victims who were killed between 5th Oct 1940 and 15th Mar 1941.”
There are 21 names listed (see table below), several were members of the same family.
