Son of Frederick George and Eleanor Joy of 7 Glencoe Avenue, Seven Kings Ilford Essex. MC for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in capturing a hostile machine gun single handed, whilst in command of a raiding party. He attacked 6 of them, and although wounded, remained in charge of his party and re-entered enemy trench in order to get his men away.
